March 1 - April 1, 2013 |
About the Exhibition: Salska's recent series of paintings, oil on masonite, intuitively explore the experiences and scars accumulated as we travel through our lives through the symbolic imagery of disfigured and forgotten doll's heads. The work contains a sense of quiet power, of emergence and beginnings, of wisdom against an anticipated struggle. Salska, born and raised in Poland, is passionate about political and social issues, and often touches on these themes in her work. Artist's talk and book signing on April 13 at 3pm with the artist and Quentin Hardy, Deputy Technology Editor of the New York Times.
